Rockstar keeps peeling back layers of GTA 6, and the latest wave of details covers two very different sides of the game: the long list of leisure activities players will be able to enjoy around Leonida, and a surprisingly detailed health system that tracks how well Jason and Lucia are eating, training and sleeping. Between the Extended Look trailer, the official screenshots and fresh comments from Rockstar North co studio head Rob Nelson, a clear picture is starting to form of just how much there will be to do outside of the main story.

Every activity spotted in GTA 6 so far
Across the two trailers, the 70 official screenshots and the Netflix Extended Look special, dataminers and outlets have counted roughly two dozen distinct pastimes. Most of them build on activities the series has done before, but several appear to be entirely new additions built for Leonida.

The activities Rockstar has already locked in
Eleven of these pastimes are considered fully confirmed because the trailers or the Extended Look show Jason or Lucia physically taking part in them, rather than just background NPCs. Fishing, for example, is a brand new addition for the series even though it already featured heavily in Red Dead Redemption 2, and footage shows both protagonists fishing together with returning character Cal Hampton. Basketball makes its first appearance since GTA San Andreas, with a hoop visible outside Jason’s home and a full court where he plays alongside Cal.
Racing gets the biggest expansion, splitting into three separate disciplines: off road racing, a brand new circuit racing mode, and the classic street races the series is known for. Water based activities are also getting more attention than ever, with kayaking joining scuba diving as something Jason and Lucia can do together as a couple, reportedly strengthening their relationship meter in the process.
Combat focused activities return too. Fighting rings and cage matches, last seen in the Ballad of Gay Tony expansion for GTA 4, appear to be back, alongside a shooting range likely tucked behind an Ammu Nation store. Nightlife remains a pillar of the series, with strip clubs, lap dances and nightclubs all confirmed, plus a rhythm based dancing minigame reminiscent of the one introduced in GTA 4’s Ballad of Gay Tony DLC.
Activities still waiting on confirmation
A handful of pastimes have shown up in the background without any clear proof they are playable. American football appears limited to NPCs tossing a ball around on the beach so far, and it is unclear whether Jason and Lucia will be able to join in. A Ferris wheel is also visible in Vice City screenshots, echoing the one players could ride in GTA Vice City Stories and GTA 5, but Rockstar has not confirmed whether it will be interactive this time around.

GTA 6’s health app will track sleep, diet and fitness
Alongside the activity list, Rockstar has revealed just how far it is taking the life sim elements that GTA San Andreas pioneered with CJ. Speaking to TGG in a preview session covered by GamesRadar, Rockstar North co studio head and development lead Rob Nelson confirmed that Jason and Lucia’s phones include a built in health app that keeps tabs on far more than just their location.
During the demo, Nelson noticed his character’s stat bars were running low and pointed to exercise as the fix, explaining that working out raises stamina and overall health. Players will reportedly need to complete three separate exercises in a single visit to finish a full workout, with cardio work boosting stamina and strength training improving health. Gyms scattered across the map will offer equipment such as bench presses, lat pulldowns, treadmills, punching bags and squat racks, and players will apparently need to buy a membership before they can use one, just as Jason and Lucia did at the front desk during the preview session.
Working out is not purely a solo affair either. Nelson pointed out that Jason and Lucia can train together, describing a joint gym session as a kind of low key date that also feeds into their relationship progress. Small touches reinforce the idea that this is meant to feel like a real routine, right down to Lucia picking up a protein shake before her set and both characters being able to change into gym clothes.
Sleep now affects how fast the characters recover
The most talked about detail is the sleep tracker itself. Nelson confirmed that the health app will simply tell players whether Jason and Lucia are well rested or not, and that this status has a direct effect on gameplay. In his own words, being sleep deprived will have some effect on the regeneration of certain attributes, meaning stats that normally recover naturally over time will refill more slowly if the characters have been kept awake too long. Other reports on the same preview session add that prolonged sleep deprivation can also leave visible bags under the characters’ eyes, mirroring the physical toll players are already used to seeing from weight changes.
Diet is tied into the same system. Nelson confirmed that consistently overeating will cause Jason and Lucia to gain visible weight, similar to the mechanic GTA San Andreas introduced decades ago, though he was careful to note that a single big meal will not be enough to change a character’s body, it takes sustained overeating for the effect to show. The flip side works the same way for muscle gained at the gym, which will gradually fade if players stop training regularly rather than staying permanent.
Taken together, fishing trips, gym sessions, race nights and a health app that quietly judges your sleep schedule all point toward a GTA that wants players to treat Jason and Lucia less like disposable action heroes and more like characters with a routine to maintain. Rockstar has not detailed every attribute the app tracks yet, but Nelson’s own summary says plenty: “We track lots of things, all this good stuff.”
GTA 6 launches on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. A PC release has not yet been announced.
I’m passionate about books and video games. These two great passions represent, for me, a boundless universe where I can “escape” from reality whenever I need or want to. There are so many stories, worlds, and landscapes where I can instantly teleport that I don’t think a whole lifetime would be enough to explore them all (though it would be my greatest dream to be able to).
GTA 6 has so much to offer that most of the players will spend the majority of their game time roaming around and doing mini-games. I’m personally more interested in fishing an kayaking; quite curious to see how these activities will fit in the game!
