Today, February 12 2026, PlayStation is back with a new State of Play, a 60+ minute showcase packed with trailers, gameplay, and fresh announcements from studios worldwide. You can watch it live on YouTube and Twitch, and I’ll be updating this article in real time with everything that gets revealed.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora
Ember Lab kicked off State of Play with a reveal that’s instantly going to resonate with fans of Kena: Bridge of Spirits. The original stood out for its animation-movie vibe and charming worldbuilding and the follow-up looks like it’s expanding that formula in a big way.
Kena: Scars of Kosmora looks like the sequel you hope for: it keeps the heart and vibe of the original, but it’s clearly stepping things up. The boss fights seem bigger and more dramatic, and the world looks more varied — with distinct areas that feel like they’ll be fun to poke around in, not just pretty backdrops. If you loved the charm and adventure feel of Kena: Bridge of Spirits, this one looks ready to build on that foundation in all the right ways.
Ghost of Yotei Legends
One of the coolest announcements was Ghost of Yōtei Legends — a free co-op addition that leans hard into team play. It’s built for four-player squads, the kind of mode that’s all about tight coordination and big set-piece fights, and it’s locked in for March 10, 2026 on PS5. Sucker Punch Productions clearly isn’t done giving players reasons to jump back into Yōtei.
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
It was pretty much the worst-kept secret, but now it’s the confirmation PC players were waiting for: Death Stranding 2 is heading to PC in March, and it’s coming with the features you’d expect on the platform — unlocked framerates and ultrawide support. If you’ve been holding off for the smoother, wider-screen version, this is your green light.
4:LOOP
Yes Bad Robot Productions, the production company founded by **J. J. Abrams (best known for Star Trek and entries in the Star Wars universe), showed up at State of Play with a gameplay reveal for 4 Loop. It’s still in pre-beta, and the tone here felt more like an invitation than a launch announcement: the devs clearly want players to get hands-on and help shape things, but they stopped short of committing to an official playtest window.
Pragmata
Capcom finally locked in a release date for Pragmata: it’s coming to PS5 on April 24, 2026. Even better, there’s a gameplay demo available right now if you want to get a feel for it yourself. If you can spare the time, it’s genuinely worth a shot — the puzzle-shooter mix is surprisingly fun once it clicks.
Resident Evil Requiem
Capcom dropped a fresh gameplay trailer for Resident Evil 9, and this one leans hard into Leon and the emotional weight of heading back to Raccoon City — the place where his nightmare started in the first place. It’s not just “bigger monsters, bigger guns”; the trailer sells that lingering trauma and the sense that this return is going to hurt. And yeah… we both know it: if this lands the way it’s teasing, RE9 is going to be one of the year’s hottest releases
Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered
In between the big headline moments, we got a proper nostalgia hit: Legacy of Kain: Defiance Remastered is officially on the way later this year, and there’s a demo promised for “soon.” No exact timing yet on the demo drop, but it’s still a nice sign they’re planning to let players go hands-on before release.
Dead or Alive 6
With Tekken, Street Fighter, and Mortal Kombat all hitting their stride this generation, it makes total sense to see Dead or Alive step back into the spotlight — especially with the series celebrating its 30th anniversary this year. The news comes as a solid one-two: Dead or Alive 6: Last Round is set to arrive later this year, and Koei Tecmo also confirmed a brand-new entry is already in early development for PS5. Now that’s a proper comeback tease.
Control Resonant
Remedy Entertainment showed the first gameplay for Control Resonant, the long-awaited follow-up to Control. It pivots into action-RPG territory, set in an open-ended New York that’s folding in on itself, with trippy navigation and exploration. Combat looks fast, messy, and more physical, leaning into melee and magic. Still targeting 2026 on PS5.
Crimson Moon
Right after Control, ProbablyMonsters introduced Crimson Moon — a third-person fantasy action game that looks genuinely fun. The trailer was pretty brief, but it’s still worth a watch if you’re into fantasy-action vibes.
Beast of Reincarnation
A fresh gameplay trailer for Beast of Reincarnation looks seriously impressive — the visuals and overall vibe are on another level. It’s coming from Game Freak (best known for Pokémon), and the nice bonus is we got a date too: it hits PS5 on August 4, 2026.
Neva: Prologue
Yakoh Shinobi Ops
Tenchu veterans from Sleuish Games and Acquire are teaming up on Yokoh Shinobi Ops, a new ninja action title coming to PS5 in 2027. This one caught me off guard — it’s got a cinematic look, but the action seems more deliberate and nuanced than flashy. Expect punishing stealth-focused combat where mistakes actually hurt.
Project Windless
Krafton Montreal Studio just revealed a game inspired by the novel The Bird That Drinks Tears, and it looks like a big, sprawling fantasy adventure with dynamic action-RPG combat. Visually, it’s a stunner, with battlefields absolutely packed with enemies and effects. The easiest comparison is Dynasty Warriors, but with way more flair and spectacle.
Star Wars: Galactic Racer
A couple of weeks back, Fuse Games told GamesRadar+ in an exclusive that podracers would be part of Star Wars Galactic Racer — and now we’re finally getting our first proper look at them in motion. The more I see, the more I’m sold. I’m already an easy win for a Star Wars racing game, but one that leans this hard into Burnout energy? That’s exactly my kind of chaos. It’s due in 2026, and it honestly can’t arrive soon enough.
007 First Light
IO Interactive showed up at State of Play with a fresh gameplay trailer for 007: First Light, and it’s looking like the real deal. It’s set to hit PS5 on May 27, and if the final game matches what they’re teasing here, it’s absolutely in “GOTY contender” territory.
Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol.2
Konami came in hot with multiple announcements, and the big one is Metal Gear Solid Master Collection Vol. 2. The headline: it finally brings **Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots to a modern platform, alongside the PSP classic Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. It launches August 27, 2026.
Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse
With Castlevania hitting its 40th anniversary, Konami is teaming up with Evil Empire and Motion Twin for Castlevania Belmont’s Curse. From the reveal, it gives off strong Castlevania meets Dead Cells vibes, and honestly that pitch sells itself. A proper Castlevania comeback has been overdue for ages, so seeing the series return in 2026 in this style is a genuinely great surprise.
Silent Hill: Townfall
Konami also dropped a first look at Silent Hill Townfall, even with a Silent Hill Transmission happening right after the show. Screen Burn and Annapurna’s new entry looks like a nasty first-person mind-bender set in the bleak fishing village of St Amelia. The Silent Hill revival is real.
Rev. Noir
Konami kept rolling with another reveal: a new JRPG called Rev. Noir. It’s fantasy action with some extra flair in the combat, and the presentation has a slightly retro edge that feels like a nod back to the PS3-era vibe for the genre.
John Wick Game
I really didn’t expect a John Wick game to show up at State of Play, but here we are. It seems to feature a younger Keanu Reeves and the whole thing looks surprisingly authentic to the vibe. It’s in development at Saber Interactive and it’s definitely the kind of project that’s going to draw a lot of attention.
Marathon
With Marathon set to hit PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X on March 5, it was only a matter of time before Bungie’s new shooter showed up with another gameplay trailer.
Big Walk
Big Walk showed up as the new co-op, open-world exploration game from the Untitled Goose Game team. Even better, it’s heading to PS Plus Monthly Games for all tiers later this year, so it’ll be an easy day-one download.
Saros
Saros is Housemarque’s next game, and it looks like pure chaos in the best way. You’re playing Arjun Devraj on this eerie planet called Carcosa, stuck under a permanent eclipse, and the whole thing seems built around fast, aggressive fights and that “one more run” loop. It’s set to hit PS5 on April 30, 2026.
Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls just dropped a roster update, and the X-Men are officially jumping in. Wolverine, Danger, Storm, and a few more fan favorites are on the way, and it’s only making this game look more stacked every time it shows up. Release on August 6.
God of War Trilogy Remake
After years of rumors, it’s finally official: we’re getting a God of War Trilogy Remake. And the nostalgia factor hits hard because T. C. Carson, the original voice of God of War Kratos, showed up to share more about the project. If you grew up on the classic trilogy, this is a huge moment.
God of War Sons of Sparta
This one came out of nowhere: a 2.5D God of War. It’s a side-scrolling action game called God of War: Sons of Sparta and it’s available right now. If you’ve got space on your drive, you might as well start the download and see what it’s like.
I write for Need4Games, mostly keeping track of what’s coming next. I cover showcases and release updates, put together quick lists when you just want the highlights, and I’ll post Steam deal roundups when the sales get wild. I play a lot of games, so I tend to look at games through that lens. No overthinking, just: what it is, why it’s interesting, and if it’s actually worth your time. I also stream now and then on Twitch.
