StarRupture Guide For Beginners

In this StarRupture Guide for beginners, we’ll shed some light on the main mechanics of the game. Would you like to know how to survive against all odds and progress faster? You will find all the necessary advices in this tutorial.

Basic Tips

The most important thing to keep in mind is that your scavenge hunts have to be well-planned. Ruptures happen regularly, and if they catch you by surprise, you will die instantly, burying with you essential resources. But you can avoid seeing the light at the end of the tunnel if you carry with you materials for a temporary shelter. Before leaving the house, make sure to take a Meteor Heart with you and basic building materials. As soon as you notice that everything around you changes, the sky becomes redder, and the wind stronger, the Rupture is on its way.

You have two choices here: to run to the main base or to build a small shack to keep you safe. But if the first solution works well in the beginning, you will find yourself venturing way too far from the HQ as you progress. This is why it is primordial to take basic resources, also known as Pocket Base, every time you leave the base. The good thing about StarRupture is that you can recover 100% of the used materials when you demolish a building. So don’t hesitate to do so.

Survival Stats

Just like many other games in the genre, your character in StarRupture has essential needs:

  • Calories reflect your hunger status.
  • Hydration shows the level of thirst.
  • Toxicity can be increased by eating certain types of foods. If the meter is full, your character will vomit, dropping both Calories and Hydration to zero. Then the health will slowly but surely diminish.
  • Health can be restored by eating.
  • Shield adds an additional layer of protection. It regenerates on its own when you don’t take any damage.
  • Energy represents your stamina.

Keeping an eye on all these meters determines the success of each exploration and fight, so don’t underestimate their importance. And when it comes to food, you need to be really careful. Soon, you will be able to unlock a Food Station and various recipes. Sure enough, cooked meals restore more health than raw food, and they also come with useful buffs. But they also increase the Toxicity level.

Base Building and Logistics

Your base is not only a safe place to go or a warehouse for your luxury loot, but it’s also a big factory. The whole system works on rails, which can thankfully be placed on every type of terrain. They can go up, down, curve, and adapt to any environment, making it easy for you to expand. But, while the base building system is quite fluid, there are some rules you need to respect.

  1. Keep your structures in the zone of a protective shield provided by Base Core. This will avoid them getting damaged after another wave of heat. You can know that a building is not protected by the shield if it’s flashing or has an icon above it. It doesn’t apply to resource extractors, though, as they will often be staying outside the safe territory.
  2. Take care of your rails. If the line is broken, your essential machines will not receive any power and therefore stop working.
  3. Prepare your defenses. The solar blast is not the only thing that is out to kill you – there are also plenty of wildlife that doesn’t appreciate a stranger with the machinery skills. In order to stop them from overflowing your base, prepare the turrets and connect them to your rail system. Just like everything here, the ammo is not infinite. Keep up the production to ensure your safety.
  4. Always repair your factory after a rupture or attack. Later in the game, you will be able to do so automatically, but for now, keeping the base in a good state is a big part of your to-do list.
  5. Avoid turning on all machines simultaneously, as it increases the threat level.

Tech Tree Explained

This StarRupture guide wouldn’t have been full if we didn’t talk about the tech tree. And it is special. In fact, there are 5 different skill trees, and each of them is tied to a specific corporation. You can deliver to them useful resources via Orbital Cargo Launcher or spend Data Points to unlock tools and perks. Here is the breakdown of these corporations:

  • Selenian Corp rewards you with the fabricator, which is a life-changer if you want to have more complex production lines.
  • Griffits Blue is focused on combat. It allows you to become more handy during attacks, giving you access to so much useful turrets.
  • Future Health is all about keeping you alive. Leveling it up makes you stronger and more resistant to hunger, damage, and other negative effects.
  • Moon Energy is one of the most important ones, as it unlocks a map. And in this game, you will be thankful when you can finally navigate on a hostile planet.
  • Clever Robotics might be useful later on, when your factory is already well established.

Rush Just After The Rupture

Those few minutes that follow the disaster are actually the most important ones. The blast leaves behind a rare ignitium spawns that will quickly go cold and disappear. Also, the heat burns away anything that was blocking the entrance to the secret caves. If you’re fast enough, you will be delighted with your loot.

Last Thoughts

In our StarRupture guide, we shared the most important things to keep in mind when starting your very first adventure on Arcadia-7. Before resuming our thoughts, we’d like to add that it is important to follow the in-game tutorial, as the survival techniques are not the same as in traditional titles of the genre. Keep sharp, look for the rupture, and build a smooth factory that is well protected from a threat. And if we can give one last piece of advice before you get immersed in the gameplay, we’d say that survival is easier with friends. Bring your crew in cooperative mode, and you will surely have hours of fun.
