Meet REANIMAL: A Chilling Horror Game Coming in 2026

Tarsier Studios is back with their brand-new project, Reanimal. This upcoming horror game is sure to send a chill down the spine with its tense atmosphere. It tells us a story about a courageous brother and sister who are ready to risk their own lives in order to save their friends from hell. We can still feel the vibes of Little Nightmares both in scenario and art design, but this game promises to be even more terrifying. Announced a little over a year ago, it was met with excitement, and the recent free demo collected thousands of positive reviews.

Reanimal: Everything We Know So Far

The thrilling adventure will be available in solo and cooperative mode (online and split-screen), which is a huge step forward. The whole game is troubling, filled with surreal monsters, twisted environments, and breathtaking cinematics. Children, too small and too weak to fight off demons, will have to hide and run to escape death. Just like in Little Nightmares, the narrative is focused on maintaining suspense across the whole journey. But this time, developers take a different approach. Even when played in single-player mode, it shows right away that the team work is the only way of survival. This is something that Supermassive Games tried to bring in LN3, although the result didn’t meet the expectations of long-time fans.

Release Date and Platforms

Reanimal is set to be released on 13 February 2026, joining the list of the most-awaited indie games of the year. It will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, and Nintendo Switch 2. Pre-orders are already open for all platforms.

Reanimal Editions

Players can choose from 2 editions: Standard and Deluxe. Standard Edition comes only with the base game, while Deluxe Edition gives access to Season Pass and some cosmetic items. Good to know: no matter which one you choose, every pre-order comes with exclusive masks.

Intrigued to try the game before its release? This is a perfect moment to play a free demo on Steam and test the gameplay. It sheds light on the first steps of the disturbing adventure of two orphans, introducing players to the story and the troubling universe of Reanimal.

Reanimal – A Game Set to Outshine Little Nightmares 3

Released in October 2025, Little Nightmares 3 was one of the highly anticipated horror games. However, it turned out to be weaker than players imagined. The latest game of the beloved series just couldn’t deliver the same level of tension as the original titles created. As a result, the interest in Reanimal has grown in numbers. Soon enough, we will be able to rediscover Tarsier Studios’ unique atmosphere, which is sure to rival LN3. Will their new game feel more “Little Nightmares”-like than Little Nightmares III itself? We’ll discover that next February.
