Being a mercenary isn’t just about the glory of the blade, it’s about the silver in your pouch. In Crimson Desert keeping your gear sharp and your horse fed requires a steady stream of income. If you’re tired of being a “broke sellsword,” here are the most effective ways how to farm money.
1. Robbing the Hernand Bank
For those who don’t mind getting their hands dirty, the bank in Hernand is a goldmine. Located just west of the local inn, this vault is ripe for the picking.

- The Prep: You can’t just walk in. Visit Grimrak, the Back Alley Merchant (tucked behind the farmhouse east of Muckroot Ranch). You’ll need to buy a Mask (10 Copper) and a Key (30 Copper).
- The Payoff: Each chest yields over 40 Silver, making it a massive early-game boost.
- The Catch: Your reputation matters. Every theft docks 5 EXP from your Hernandian Contribution Level. Steal wisely.
2. The bounty hunter’s grind
If you prefer staying on the right side of the law, the Bounty Boards in major cities are your best friend. This is arguably the most consistent farming method. Not only do the bounties pay well upon completion, but the targets often carry valuable gear and resources you can loot during the hunt.
3. Turning trash into treasure
Don’t leave a battlefield empty-handed. The world of Pywel is crawling with enemies, and almost all of them drop “vendor trash” or random materials. While a single broken blade might not seem like much, selling these in bulk to local NPCs is the fastest way to maintain a steady flow of silver between major missions.
4. Questing for coin
While it sounds obvious, don’t ignore the Main Story. While some RPGs only reward you with “experience,” most chapters in Crimson Desert include a healthy silver bonus. It’s the most natural way to stay funded while unlocking new areas to exploit.
I write for Need4Games, mostly keeping track of what’s coming next. I cover showcases and release updates, put together quick lists when you just want the highlights, and I’ll post Steam deal roundups when the sales get wild. I play a lot of games, so I tend to look at games through that lens. No overthinking, just: what it is, why it’s interesting, and if it’s actually worth your time. I also stream now and then on Twitch.
