I want to be honest with you. I do not usually play Mario games. I like platformers like Rayman Legends and Astro Bot. I never grew up with Mario and I like games that’re a little darker. So this review is my honest opinion about Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch 2.
The game works perfectly. It is smooth. Looks really good on the new Switch. This is not a surprise because Nintendo always makes sure their games work well. The new Switch makes the game look even better than it did on the Switch.
The Game Itself
I think Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a great platformer. The world feels real. The Wonder Flower thing makes every level different. The game looks amazing. Nintendo did a great job making it feel new. They took a game and made it feel fresh again.
The levels are designed well. Each one is different and fun. The game is easy enough for players but hard enough for people who want to complete everything. Playing with friends is really fun too. If you have never played a Mario game before Super Mario Bros. Wonder is a place to start.
The Problem is Not the Game
This is where I get a little upset. It has nothing to do with the game itself.
If you already own Super Mario Bros. Wonder on the Switch you have to pay extra to play it on the new Switch. It is not a lot of money. It is still annoying. You already bought the game. Now Nintendo wants you to pay again to play it on their new console.
Nintendo has a lot of fans and they know they can get away with things like this. They do not have to try hard to get people to buy their games.. That is why they can charge people again to play the same game on a new console.
The extra fee is not the end of the world.. It is still not a good thing. Nintendo did this on purpose. They should be called out for it.
Final Verdict
Super Mario Bros. Wonder on Nintendo Switch 2 is a version of a great game. If you have never played it this is the way to play it. If you already own it on the Switch and do not mind paying a little extra it is still worth it.
The score of 7 out of 10 is for this version of the game, on the new Switch. It is not because the game is bad. It is just because Nintendo is asking people to pay to play the same game.
Score: 7 / 10
I’m passionate about books and video games. These two great passions represent, for me, a boundless universe where I can “escape” from reality whenever I need or want to. There are so many stories, worlds, and landscapes where I can instantly teleport that I don’t think a whole lifetime would be enough to explore them all (though it would be my greatest dream to be able to).
