Here survival depends on how quickly you unlock the skills that grant you mobility and crowd control. Here are the best early skills during your first few hours to turn your character into an unstoppable force.
Essential combat skills
1. Keen Senses (Lvl 2) – The perfect dodge
This is arguably the most important skill in your early arsenal. It allows you to perform a perfect dodge, which slows down time for a few seconds. In a game where enemies strike relentlessly, this window of time is crucial for pivoting from defense to a devastating offense.
2. Forward Slash (Lvl 3) – Raw power
Don’t let the “basic attack” label fool you. At Level 3, Forward Slash becomes your primary method for dealing massive damage. The best part? The animation speed is nearly identical to a light attack, but the impact is significantly higher. it is the foundation of any efficient combo.
3. Quick Swap (Lvl 5) – Armed combat
Nothing kills the flow of a fight faster than fumbling through radial menus. Quick Swap allows you to cycle through your weapons seamlessly. This fluidity is vital when you want to switch from your long-range bow to your short sword to finish off an enemy that got too close.
Utility and exploration
4. Nature’s Echo – The damage multiplier
This is a special skill that grants your attacks an additional hit. To unlock it, you need Keen Senses and Forward Slash at Level 3 and one Abyss Artifact. It is well worth the investment, as it boosts your combat efficiency without requiring extra resources.
5. Aerial Maneuver – Vertical mobility
Pywel is a land filled with mountains and fortresses. Using your Axiom Bracelet, Aerial Maneuver enables you to latch onto ledges and scale obstacles rapidly. It’s essential not just for exploration, but also for gaining a tactical advantage in combat by plunging onto enemies from above.
6. Nature’s Retribution – The anti-air shield
Flying enemies can be extremely frustrating early on. This skill allows you to reflect their projectiles, turning their own attack into their downfall. It is the simplest way to clear the battlefield of ranged harassers.
