When I say “top Christmas games 2025,” I’m talking about the kind of titles that naturally fit this time of year: they hook you fast, play great solo or with a partner or a whole living-room crew, bring that cozy vibe for quiet winter nights, and are substantial enough to keep you invested throughout the holiday break.
In 2025, Christmas comes with two gamer “traditions” that are basically set in stone: huge winter sales and a wave of festive events across live-service games. For example Steam Winter Sale runs from December 18 2025 to January 5 2026, right when most people are home more. And Fortnite Winterfest is live in that same window, packed with gifts and seasonal rewards.

Clair Obscur: Expedition 33
A gorgeous RPG that hits hard if you want something more “serious” over the holidays—strong atmosphere, story, and combat that keeps you locked in.
Split Fiction
Co-op only, with an interactive-movie vibe and scenes designed to be experienced together, not just played side by side.
Stardew Valley
Pure comfort gaming. After the meals and the holiday running around, you log in, tend your farm, chat with the townsfolk, and everything just… settles.
Mario Kart 8
The couch classic that never fails. No matter who grabs a controller, within two minutes you’ve got rivalries, jokes, and “just one more race.”
Death Stranding 2: On the Beach
A true holiday game in the old-school sense: you play it slowly, you feel it. It pulls you in with atmosphere, music, and that long, step-by-step journey.
LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga
Family-friendly, local co-op, lots of humor, and a ton of content. The kind of game even non-hardcore gamers end up enjoying.
Baldur’s Gate 3

If you want a holiday getaway to another world—but without fantasy—this is it: serious medieval immersion, quests that hook you, deliberate combat, and a world that doesn’t forgive you, but does reward you once you learn it.
Marvel Rivals
A fast hero shooter that’s great for online party sessions. It also landed on PS4 in 2025, so it’s easier to slot into friend groups that don’t all have newer hardware.
Ghost of Yotei
A cinematic single-player game with film-like atmosphere and exploration that fits perfectly with long winter nights. You play it for the style, the duels, and that pacing that keeps you saying “just 20 more minutes.”
Hollow Knight: Silksong
For players who want skill, exploration, and memorable boss fights. And if you finish it and still crave more, Team Cherry has already confirmed the first expansion, “Sea of Sorrow,” for 2026.
