Top 10 New Games of April 2026

Last updated on April 15, 2026

April is not always the most explosive month on the gaming calendar. But 2026 is different. There are a handful of releases this month that actually have something to say, and a couple of them could end up being talked about well into the year. Here is a rundown of the ten new games worth your attention in April 2026.

Samson (April 8)

A street-level game about survival, money, and coming back home with nothing to your name. You fight your way through tough situations, adapt to chaos, and find your own way through a world that is not exactly waiting for you. It has a raw, unpolished edge to it that feels intentional.

Mouse P.I. For Hire (April 16)

This one looks like a 1930s cartoon, but do not let the visuals fool you. It is a shooter at its core, set in a black-and-white world full of gangsters and mystery. You play a mouse detective, which sounds ridiculous until you see it in motion. The art style alone makes it stand out, and the gameplay looks like it can hold its own.

Replaced (April 14)

One of the most visually striking games in recent memory. Replaced blends pixel art with 3D environments and wraps everything in a cyberpunk atmosphere. You play as an AI trapped inside a human body, which sets up a story that seems built to hook you in and not let go. If there is one game this month you should look up just to see what it looks like, this is it.

Pragmata (April 17)

Capcom has been quiet about this one for a long time, and it is finally arriving. Set on the Moon, it mixes action, exploration, and puzzles around the relationship between a soldier and a young android. It is one of the more mysterious big releases in a while, and the anticipation around it is real.

Saros (April 30)

The heaviest hitter of the month. Saros is made by Housemarque, the studio behind Returnal, and it picks up where that game left off in terms of feel and ambition. You play as Arjun Devraj, a Soltari Enforcer stranded on the planet Carcosa under a permanent, ominous eclipse. The eclipse is not just atmosphere. It actively changes biomes, strengthens enemies, and shifts the challenge from run to run.

What sets Saros apart from Returnal is the permanent progression system. Deaths still hurt, but you carry upgrades forward, which makes earlier sections more manageable as you go. Each run is designed to be around 30 minutes, and from early previews, the loop is tight enough that you will want to keep going. Arjun is voiced by Rahul Kohli, and the story seems to have a lot more to unpack than Returnal did. PS5 exclusive at launch, PS5 Pro enhanced. This one is the clear standout of the month.

Last Flag (April 14)

A 5v5 multiplayer game with a classic capture-the-flag setup, but with a more arcade-style feel to it. It does not have the same profile as the other entries here, but it keeps showing up in April release lists for a reason. Sometimes that is enough.

Masters of Albion (April 22)

A god game built around a simple but effective loop: build during the day, defend at night. It draws from classic strategy games of the past but brings the design up to modern standards. If you have any fondness for that genre, this one looks like it was made with care.

Kiln (April 23)

Details are still thin on this one. It is an indie project that has been quietly generating curiosity, described as something different and experimental. The kind of game you add to your wishlist and check on launch day out of genuine interest.

Road to Vostok (April 7, Early Access)

A hardcore survival game with a strong emphasis on realism and tactical decision-making. It is not for everyone. The pacing is slow, the stakes feel real, and there is no hand-holding. But if that sounds appealing to you, this could be exactly what you have been waiting for.

Invincible VS (April 30)

A 3v3 fighting game set in the Invincible universe. Fast matches, recognizable characters, and the kind of brutality that fits the source material perfectly. It seems built to appeal to fans of the show first, but the genre chops look solid enough to draw in fighting game players too.

April 2026 has more going for it than it might seem at first glance. Saros alone would be enough to make the month worth watching. Add Replaced, Pragmata, and a few solid smaller titles, and there is genuinely something here for most types of players.
