Star Wars: Galactic Racer its made by Fuse Games, a small studio made by developers who used to work on Burnout and Need for Speed. Game was announced at The Game Awards 2025, which was the first time anyone had heard of it.
A Different Kind of Star Wars Racing
Instead of bringing back pod racing, the game focuses on The Galactic League, basically an illegal racing scene somewhere out in the Outer Rim. The reveal trailer showed landspeeders, speeder bikes and a few vehicles that looked familiar from the films, all with their own handling. No pods at all, which is kind of surprising considering the history.
Tracks Around the Galaxy
The races take place on several planets. The tracks seem to have branching paths and shortcuts, so races won’t play out exactly the same every time.
The Story Behind It
The campaign follows a racer named Shade, who’s basically out for revenge and trying to make a name for themselves after the Empire’s fall. Their main rival is Kester. At the end of the trailer, there’s even a quick shot of an older Sebulba, which long-time fans will probably recognize instantly. The game also includes PVP multiplayer, so it’s not just a single-player experience.

Why It Matters
According to Fuse Games’ CEO Matt Webster, they want each race to feel unpredictable and exciting. The game is being published by Secret Mode, a company known for supporting some unusual racing projects. And honestly, it’s been more than 20 years since we last got a true Star Wars racing game, so even this new approach feels long overdue.
Game is launching in 2026 for PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
