Gamescom Opening Night Live 2025 once again showcased the magic of major announcements from the world of video games. Geoff Keighley opened the evening with a spectacular show, packed with world premiere trailers, surprises, and revelations that made the gaming community buzz with excitement. From eagerly awaited sequels and promising new franchises to updates for already popular titles, the event successfully set the stage for an exciting end of the year for gamers. Denshattack
Imagine a wild mix of the spectacular tricks from Tony Hawk and the atmosphere of a post-apocalyptic Japan. Denshattack replaces skateboards with a speeding train that you control through shattered landscapes. The game is scheduled for early 2026 release on Xbox Series X|S, PS5, and PC. Game Pass subscribers will be able to play it from day one.
Valor Mortis
One More Level, known for Ghostrunner, shifts settings and genres with Valor Mortis, a first-person souls-like set during the Napoleonic Wars. The combination of swords, firearms, and dark magic promises intense battles against monstrous creatures that were once soldiers—an intriguing mix of history and dark fantasy.
Bubsy 4D
After more than two decades, Bubsy returns in a brand-new 3D adventure. Developed by Fabraz, the game will be available on PC and modern consoles, bringing back one of the most colorful mascots of the ‘90s to a refreshed world while maintaining its playful charm.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds
Sonic and Pac-Man join forces in an unexpected crossover, including dedicated DLCs for both Sonic Racing CrossWorlds and Pac-Man World 2: Re-Pac. Additionally, an open network test will run from August 29 to September 1, giving fans a chance to experience the chaotic competitions.
Hollow Knight: Silksong
Though full details will arrive on August 21, ONL showcased new gameplay footage of Hollow Knight: Silksong. Fans eager for a sign were pleased, as the showcased fragments confirm the game retains its charm with a planned 2025 release.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 7
Releasing officially on November 14, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7’s Gamescom presentation detailed content transfer programs from Black Ops 6, a new Zombies map, campaign progression, and, naturally, multiplayer mode. The sequel promises to uphold the series’ high standards.
Lords of the Fallen 2
CI Games revealed the first cinematic trailer for Lords of the Fallen 2, a game that promises to be more brutal and faster-paced than its predecessor. Scheduled for launch in 2026, the sequel aims to raise the bar within the souls-like genre.
Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice Anime
Rumors came true: Sekiro will have an anime adaptation in 2026, to be aired on Crunchyroll. The first trailer showcased a strong visual direction, faithful to the intense atmosphere of the original game, making it one of the most anticipated game-inspired animated productions.
Lego Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
The Dark Knight returns in a new LEGO game where fans can relive iconic moments from movies, games, and comics. A surprising reveal was that Matt Berry will voice Bane, promising sequences filled with humor and style.
Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War 4
The Warhammer 40K universe receives a new chapter in 2026, set 200 years after the events of Dawn of War 3. The game will feature over 70 missions and a complex experience for real-time strategy fans.
Monster Hunter Wilds x Final Fantasy 14
Capcom confirmed a collaboration with Final Fantasy 14 for Monster Hunter Wilds. The event begins in September, continuing through October, offering players reasons to return to both titles.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword

Europa Universalis V
After over a decade of waiting, Paradox confirmed that Europa Universalis V is in development. Fans of complex strategy games can start dreaming of new historical campaigns and expanded gameplay systems.
Fallout – Season 2
The TV adaptation of the Fallout universe returns on December 17, this time set in New Vegas. The trailer confirmed the return of characters played by Ella Purnell and Walton Goggins, immersed in a nostalgic post-apocalyptic atmosphere.
Indiana Jones and The Order of Giants
The expansion The Order of Giants for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle was presented with gameplay full of traps and mysteries. Launch is scheduled for next month, with a dedicated version for Switch 2 slated for 2026.
Deadpool VR
The merc with a mouth enters virtual reality on November 18, when Deadpool VR officially launches. The trailer revealed that the main villain will be Mojo, portrayed by John Leguizamo, alongside appearances from Spiral and Omega Red.
World of Tanks 2.0
The World of Tanks series receives a massive update on September 3. In addition to optimizations, the update will introduce level XI vehicles and a story-driven PvE campaign, providing new content for veterans and newcomers alike.
John Carpenter’s Toxic Commando
After a period of silence, Toxic Commando returned at ONL with its first gameplay filled with blood and action. The game, developed by Saber Interactive, carries the horror style of John Carpenter blended with intense battles.
Death by Scrolling
Created by Ron Gilbert, Death by Scrolling is an unusual vertical RPG where each level presents new challenges. Players must fight to escape meeting Death itself, in a concept that mixes humor with classic difficulty.
Zero Parades
ZA/UM, known for Disco Elysium, brought a cinematic teaser for the new project Zero Parades to ONL. Although no gameplay was shown, the atmosphere suggests a game centered on espionage, conspiracies, and shadow games— a world where nothing is as it seems.
Neverness to Everness
With a visual style reminiscent of Zenless Zone Zero and Honkai Star Rail, Neverness to Everness bets on techwear aesthetics and a futuristic world. It aims to conquer players through style and atmosphere, promising a mix of action and exploration full of personality.
Unbeatable
Scheduled for release on November 6, Unbeatable showed an energetic trailer inspired by the vibe of the anime FLCL. Its visual style and catchy soundtrack make it an experience full of rhythm and attitude.
Honor of Kings: World
A new trailer for Honor of Kings: World showcased a spectacular boss fight and some impressive fantasy environments. The game continues to draw attention with its grand architecture and epic confrontations.
Ninja Gaiden Black 4
The Ninja Gaiden series returns strong with Black 4, a game focusing on precise sword attacks and the typical agility of a shinobi. The bloody and fast-paced trailer thrilled fans of this legendary franchise.
The Darkest Files
A serious-themed game, The Darkest Files puts players in the role of analyzing documents, judging former Nazis, and contributing to post-war Germany’s reconstruction. The title is already available on PC and will soon launch on Switch.
Cinder City
NCSoft opened the announcements with Cinder City, a tactical MMO shooter set in an open-world environment. The game promises a living world where survival depends on player decisions and skills.
Time Takers
Also from NCSoft, Time Takers is a third-person shooter where characters from different historical eras clash in total chaos. The concept seems unusual but offers a potentially unique competitive experience.
Silent Hill F
Silent Hill F returned to the spotlight with a terrifying trailer, featuring souls-like-inspired combat and Japanese folklore elements. The main character will be voiced in English by Suzie Yeung, known from Final Fantasy VII Remake.
Cronos: The New Dawn
Bloober Team continues its rise with Cronos: The New Dawn, a survival horror game featuring time travel mechanics and an atmosphere inspired by Dead Space. The ONL presentation also included a cosplayer dressed as the protagonist, highlighting the game’s immersive visuals.
La Divina Commedia
Inspired by Dante’s classic, La Divina Commedia sends players into the circles of hell where survival becomes essential. The trailer hinted at a tough adventure with a strong concept.
The Outer Worlds 2
Obsidian returned with a humorous trailer for The Outer Worlds 2, introduced by actor Ben Schwartz. The sequel promises more freedom, new planets to explore, and memorable companions. Launch is set for October 29.
Inzoi: Island Getaway
Starting August 20, Inzoi: Island Getaway is free for all players. It offers a relaxing digital island escape experience.
Fate Trigger
Entering early access in early 2026, Fate Trigger introduces a new wave of anime-inspired characters armed to the teeth. The game promises intense action with spectacular visual effects.
The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin
The open-world adaptation of the popular manga and anime, The Seven Deadly Sins: Origin, tells an original story through Tristan, son of Meliodas. The trailer showcased dynamic battles and exploration of the kingdom of Britannia.
Void Breaker
Already in early access on Steam and PC Game Pass, Void Breaker received a quick trailer at ONL, promising an action-packed experience for genre fans.
Vampire: The Masquerade Bloodlines 2
After years of waiting, Bloodlines 2 debuts on October 21. The trailer highlighted exploring a dark Seattle where players are guided by a mysterious voice searching for the truth behind a murder.
Moonlighter 2
Digital Sun Games and 11 bit studios announced that Moonlighter 2: The Endless Vault will enter early access on October 23. The game will feature three biomes and over 120 relics to collect and sell.
World of Warcraft: Midnight
The new WoW expansion, Midnight, was showcased with a spectacular cinematic trailer. The story highlights Lor’themar and Liadrin defending Quel’Thalas from an invasion led by Xal’atath.
Age of Empires 4
The Age of Empires series arrives on PS5 this November with the New Dynasties of the East expansion, which will add new civilizations and campaigns.
Cult of the Lamb
The Woolhaven expansion for Cult of the Lamb will launch in early 2026, promising more bizarre rituals and dark tales for fans of this digital cult.
Kingdom Come Deliverance 2: Legacy of the Forge
Coming September 9, Legacy of the Forge is the second DLC for Kingdom Come Deliverance 2. Players will be able to repair an abandoned forge and build their reputation as a blacksmith.
Enshrouded: Wake the Water
The Wake the Water update for Enshrouded arrives in October, introducing aquatic elements that will change how players explore the game world.
Project Spectrum
Created by the team behind Delta Force, Project Spectrum is a PvPvE psychological horror game. The cinematic trailer shown at ONL raised many questions and sparked fan curiosity.
World of Tanks: Heat
Alongside the World of Tanks 2.0 update, World of Tanks: Heat was announced, a hero shooter with customizable tanks, 10v10 modes, cross-play, and cross-progression, available on PC and modern consoles.
Ghost of Yotei
One of the most anticipated games in October, Ghost of Yotei impressed with its spectacular settings and samurai action. A free multiplayer mode inspired by Ghost of Tsushima’s Legends will arrive in 2026.
Resident Evil Requiem
Scheduled for February 2026, Resident Evil Requiem showed an intense trailer focused on protagonist Grace Ashcroft’s story. The game carries the classic horror tone of the series but introduces a completely new heroine.
Black Myth: Zhong Kui
