Exodus sci‑fi RPG bends time again after new TGA 2025 trailer

Last updated on December 12, 2025

Exodus returned to The Game Awards 2025 with a new story‑driven trailer that cements it as one of the biggest upcoming sci‑fi RPGs from ex‑BioWare talent.

Exodus: space‑opera sci‑fi RPG

Exodus is a sci‑fi action role‑playing game from Archetype Entertainment, a studio led by former BioWare developers and published by Wizards of the Coast. Players step into the role of Jun Aslan, a salvager turned “Traveler” 40,000 years in the future, leading humanity after it flees a dying Earth to settle in the Centauri cluster. The new Game Awards 2025 trailer focuses on Jun’s origin, his family ties, and the looming threat of the Celestials, an evolved offshoot of humanity that now hunts its creators.

A key hook in Exodus is relativistic time dilation: when the player uses near‑light‑speed travel, years or even decades can pass on the worlds left behind. Returning to a planet in Exodus sci fi RPG means seeing factions rise or fall, cities change and the consequences of earlier choices fully play out, giving the campaign a strong sense of long‑term impact.

Exodus is pitched as a story‑driven third‑person Exodus sci fi RPG with real‑time combat, combining firearms, gadgets and powerful gauntlet abilities fueled by alien Celestial Remnants. Jun is joined by a party of human and “Awakened” companions whose loyalties, relationships and personal quests evolve depending on player decisions across the timeline.

Built in Unreal Engine 5 for PC and consoles, Exodus currently targets an “early 2027” launch window. The Exodus sci fi RPG can already be wishlisted on Steam, and Archetype is promising further deep‑dive showcases on systems and worldbuilding as development progresses.
