Since the release of Black Myth: Wukong, hundreds of gaming studios have received huge funding and set out to create AAA games to rival the West.
A few months ago, my partner Lunatic Ignus and I came across a person on Linkedin who was working at a studio in China that we had never heard of before. The person was a concept artist, and in his bio he said he was working on an unannounced AAA project for Shanghai Torchpie Culture Communication.
“worked on art direction, character design, environment design, and UI design for an unannounced AAA narrative adventure game in development using Unreal Engine 5 / designed and iterated the studio’s corporate logo”.
As for the game, I can only tell you that it is in a very early stage, so I don’t expect it to receive a release date until at least 2028-2029. Lunatic ignus managed to find the website domain and access it, unfortunately, we didn’t find much about this project, but the image in the background caught our attention. A man in a suit with a TV head that has cryptic text on it, namely “Destiny“. (It also looks a lot like Love, Death and Robots, that can be the main inspiration).
Right now, when we try to access the website, it seems that the domain has expired, probably the developers realized that it is much too early for a proper website. We will try to gather more info on this project and make an update on it, stay tuned!
