The Nikki series was known for mobile games like Love Nikki and Shining Nikki. Until December 2024, when developer “Infold Games”, a subsidiary of “PaperGames”, released “Infinity Nikki”, the first cross-platform game that managed to be a considerable success, with over 20 million downloads in the first month.
Shortly after, the developers confirmed that it is an important series for the company and they will do everything in their power to deliver a first-class experience for fans, especially after the whole scandal with the women’s boycott.
Recently, the Need4Games team investigated the entire Infold studio to observe changes and updates about the upcoming games.. “Ballad of Antarra” and “Project: The Perceiver”, about which we know absolutely nothing, apart from the soft-reboot that Ballad of Antarra recently received.
During our investigation, we learned from 2 LinkedIn users, who we will not mention for security reasons, that Infold is working on a film based on the Nikki series, specifically “Infinity Nikki”.
The movie has only been in production for a few months from what I could see, so I find it hard to believe that they will show it anytime soon.
In addition, we noticed that Infold employs a lot of people for animation, including animators who worked at Disney on projects such as: Tangled, Wreck it Ralph and Frozen 2.
For the most part, neither of the 2 people working at Infold have shown or mentioned more details about the film, but the probability of a film based on Infinity Nikki is almost 100%.
