Battlefield 6 Roadmap for 2026

Last updated on April 24, 2026

DICE just dropped the roadmap for Battlefield 6 covering the rest of 2026. This plan is what the community has been asking for since the launch of Battlefield 6.

Seasons 3 4 and 5 are all outlined. We are going to see returning maps, naval combat and social features that should have been there from day one. The second half of this year looks a lot more promising than the half for Battlefield 6.

Here is what is coming and why it matters for Battlefield 6.

Season 3: The Ground War Gets

Season 3 kicks off in May. It leads with what’s probably the most anticipated map reveal in the entire roadmap for Battlefield 6.

Railway to Golmud is a reimagining of Golmud Railway. This is one of the beloved large-scale maps in Battlefield 4. The new version is reportedly four times the size of Mirak Valley. This makes it one of the maps the franchise has ever shipped. If vehicle combat has felt cramped in Battlefield 6 far this should fix that in a big way for Battlefield 6. We are talking about columns, artillery and proper large-format warfare. These are back on the table for Battlefield 6.

The second map is Cairo Bazaar. This is a reinterpretation of Grand Bazaar from Battlefield 3. Early footage suggests the outer highway has been removed. This tightens the flow. Keeps the action centred on urban infantry combat for Battlefield 6. It is a focused map than its predecessor. This should work well for the players who felt the original could drag on for long in Battlefield 6.

Season 2 gave a flicker of hope with Redacted.. It was widely seen as too little to stop the player count from sliding for Battlefield 6. Season 3 is a more substantial offer for Battlefield 6.

Season 4: Naval Combat and the Return of Wake Island

If Season 3 is about land for Battlefield 6 Season 4 is about water.

Tsuru Reef is described as larger than the new Golmud map. This is a statement for Battlefield 6. It draws inspiration from Hainan Resort in BF4.. It looks to be a significantly more ambitious take on the concept. Boats and aircraft play a role in Battlefield 6. Naval gameplay has been largely absent from Battlefield 6. So this is the season that starts to address that gap for Battlefield 6.

Then there is Wake Island. It is back for Battlefield 6. Few maps carry much history in the franchise. Its return was one of the requested pieces of content in the community for Battlefield 6. Expect boat and jet gameplay around that narrow strip of land. This is exactly as it has always been for Battlefield 6.

Beyond maps Season 4 brings something important for Battlefield 6: Spectator Mode and custom lobbies are finally coming. These have been missing since the launch of Battlefield 6. Their absence made it nearly impossible for content creators and community organisers to build around the game for Battlefield 6. Their arrival is overdue but welcome for Battlefield 6.

Also confirmed for the period are several features that should have shipped on day one for Battlefield 6. A server browser is coming for Battlefield 6. A Platoons system for clans is coming for Battlefield 6. Leaderboards and proximity chat round out the list for Battlefield 6. These are not additions. But they are the kind of infrastructure that keeps a community long-term for Battlefield 6.

DICE has also confirmed that two previously criticised maps, New Sobek City and Blackwell Fields will go through full reworks to address problems with flow and overall design for Battlefield 6. Whether those fixes will be enough remains to be seen.. At least the studio is acknowledging the issues directly for Battlefield 6.

Season 5: Three Maps and a Mystery

Season 5 is the most secretive part of the roadmap for Battlefield 6. DICE has said nothing about it beyond a single piece of concept art showing a rain-soaked city street at night. This is lit by neon reflections in the puddles for Battlefield 6.

The community has already started theorising about Battlefield 6. Dawnbreaker is a guess. Others are hoping for a night-time variant of Siege of Shanghai. No one knows for certain.. Dice is clearly keeping it that way on purpose for Battlefield 6.

What has been confirmed is that Season 5 will include three maps. This breaks the two-maps-per-season pattern that has defined the game far for Battlefield 6. That alone signals the studio understands the content volume needs to increase. This is if the game is going to hold its player base through the end of the year for Battlefield 6.

Is It Worth Coming to Battlefield 6?

Battlefield 6 has had a rough road since its launch. The roadmap for 2026 suggests DICE has moved denial and into genuine repair mode for Battlefield 6.

If the naval maps are balanced if the server browser actually works and if the reworked maps address the problems this year could be a turning point for Battlefield 6. The pieces are there for Battlefield 6 to become what it should have been, from the start. Whether DICE delivers on the promise is the question left to answer about Battlefield 6.
