Camelot Unchained arrives on Steam early acces on 2nd june

Last updated on May 31, 2026

Camelot Unchained is finally landing on Steam Early Access this Tuesday June 2nd, at 2:00 p.m. EDT, putting an end to years of confusing definitions about the game’s testing phases.

Just a heads-up before you reach for your wallet, this isn’t a normal launch. Even if you buy it through Steam you can still only play during weekends and rare Wednesday tests. The underlying schedule isn’t changing at all.

Storefront dynamics and prices

It is crucial to note that this rollout is exclusively for Steam. Unchained Entertainment currently has no timeline for when its proprietary online storefront will reopen to allow direct purchases. Furthermore, the official Steam price tag remains a mystery for now.

For those who have been following or funding the game for a while, here is how the keys and access tiers will break down:

  • Existing backers: If your pledge tier included game keys, those promises will absolutely be honored. However, those specific keys will only be redeemable on CU’s own website store once it goes back online.
  • Current testers: If you are already in the early access loop, you can comfortably keep using the MMORPG’s standalone launcher without any pressure to buy a copy on Steam.

The NDA is lifting

The moment the game goes live on Steam, the strict NDA will officially be lifted. There is a catch, though: this lift is not retroactive. Any footage, screenshots or information gathered from older, private builds must stay secret. However, any gameplay or content generated from Tuesday onward is completely fair game for streaming, YouTube videos, and public discussion.

Recent Developer Updates

As expected the devs at Unchained Entertainment had a lot of work over the past month to get the game ready for its new audience. According to recent announcements and Discord updates, the latest build includes:

  • Crucial character bug fixes and visual improvements to the game’s water.
  • More dynamic designs and encounter logic for key points of interest, including the addition of ranged NPC defenders.
  • The implementation of an equipment durability mechanic.
  • Significant engine updates, balance tweaks and fresh UI overhauls.

The time for this ambitious RvR MMO to see the light of day is finally here. Whether the broader Steam community will embrace its limited weekend-only schedule is a question we’ll see answered this Tuesday.
