Every year, PlayStation brings us an event that we should not miss, namely “State of Play”, usually, these events are 1 per quarter, the first of the year being in late January or early February.
Multiple insiders such as Nate The Hate and Jeff Grubb, both of whom have an exceptional track record, have mentioned that this year’s event will take place the week of February 12, we believe it is exactly 12, for Japan time, that would be 11 in Romania.
Our team decided to make some very educated predictions, with some inside information and the reason why we believe that the following games have a very high chance of making an appearance at the promised State of Play.
Tides of Annihilation
Being a game with a release date of 2026, Tides of Annihilation is one of the safe games that could appear at the event. The first reveal was also at a State of Play, namely the State of Play of February 14, 2025.
It would mark a year since the reveal, and besides, being a Chinese game and receiving a ton of updates on SteamDB and EpicDB, it is certain that the developers will not miss the chance to show the game during this period, being Chinese New Year.
Project Awakening
Probably one project that everyone forgot about is Project Awakening, a title originally developed for the Playstation 4 by Cygames. The game has been completely silent since then, but Cygames has told us in recent years that the game is in continuous development and will be released in 2026+.
I think the game is at this event simply because it is the 30th anniversary of the Cyberconnect company, which promised several interesting things.. just today we received an unexpected announcement for Granblue Fantasy: Relink, namely an expansion that will be released in July 9, 2026.
God of War 2.5D
There have been rumors for almost 2 years that a new God of War game is in the works and is set in the Greek era. Although no insider has given many details about it, most have suspected that it is a 2.5D Metroidvania in which you play as Kratos and Deimos.
Being a metroidvania game, on a smaller scale, we can call it an AA, I doubt they would keep it marinating for that long, this State of Play seems like the perfect opportunity for it.
Judas
Judas is a title that many people are waiting for just because of the giant behind it, Ken Levine. A true genius in the gaming industry and a man who plays games, not just develops them.
Judas is no stranger to Playstation, in the past they had a contract for a special trailer at State of Play. And now, being in the final stages of development, it is ready to be exposed and start marketing strongly, with a possible release date before Grand Theft Auto VI, perhaps in the Summer.
Marvel Tokon: Fighting Souls
It’s definitely not a big deal to realize that Marvel Token is a title that will definitely appear at the show, our team believes it’s a June release, which would be perfect for EVO 2026 in July.
Honor of Kings: World
Although the official date for this game has not been confirmed by the developers, they have told us that Spring 2026 is the perfect opportunity for a global launch for all platforms, and since Sony has a pretty good relationship with Tencent, I suspect this title will make its appearance there, with an April-May release date.
Onimusha: Way of the Sword
We don’t have any concrete evidence that this title will be part of this quarter’s State of Play, but knowing Capcom very well, I definitely think this title is one for the summer. And where else would you give a release date for such a big title?
The game is also mentioned on the official Playstation page as one of the “Most Wanted 2026 Playstation games”.
The Blood of Dawnwalker
In recent weeks, this game has started receiving constant updates on SteamDB, which would mean a very close release date, with such a high marketing push, I don’t think the game will cross the summer threshold for release.
Besides that, Bandai Namco is always at a Playstation event, whether they come with an indie or a AAA game, The Blood of Dawnwalker is our bet.
That’s about it with our predictions for the next State of Play this month, I want to clarify that these are just some educated guesses, so we are not 100% sure that these games will appear there, but the chances are huge.
