007 First Light is IO Interactive’s new James Bond origin game, and its latest The Game Awards 2025 trailer fully locked in the launch and pre-order details.

Story and gameplay overview

007 First Light follows a 26‑year‑old James Bond at the very start of his career, charting his journey from rebellious Royal Navy recruit to rising MI6 agent. The adventure blends narrative‑driven espionage, stealth, social infiltration, and brutal gunplay in exotic locations, as Bond crosses paths with allies like M, Moneypenny and mentor John Greenway while facing off against a powerful pirate lord in West Africa.

TGA 2025 trailer and villain

The TGA 2025 spot highlights the main antagonist, a flamboyant pirate‑king style villain who rules a criminal network from the African coast, shown lounging with tattoos, gold jewelry, a dagger and a guitar in the key art. This presentation sells him as a charismatic, unhinged counterpart to Bond, setting the tone for a more personal, character‑driven conflict.

Release date, platforms and pre-order bonus

The new trailer card confirms that 007 First Light launches on March 27, 2026, with pre‑orders available now. The TGA artwork lists platforms as PS5, Xbox, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud, Steam, Epic Games Store and Nintendo Switch 2, meaning full current‑gen console and PC coverage plus cloud play in the Xbox ecosystem. Anyone who pre‑orders receives a free Deluxe Edition upgrade, adding extra cosmetic and early‑unlock content on top of the base game.
